FlexReader Terms of Use
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of FlexReader (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. Eligibility and Account Responsibility
- You are responsible for complying with local laws and platform rules.
- If a child uses the App, a parent or guardian is responsible for supervision.
- You are responsible for safeguarding any third-party API keys you enter.
2. License to Use the App
Subject to these Terms, you are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal or internal business reading purposes.
3. User Content and Imported Files
- You may import TXT/EPUB files and metadata into the App.
- You represent that you have legal rights to use and process imported content.
- You must not import unlawful, infringing, or malicious content.
4. Project Gutenberg Content
- The App can access catalog/book data from Project Gutenberg.
- Use of Gutenberg content remains subject to Project Gutenberg license terms and local copyright law.
- You are responsible for checking whether a title is lawful to use in your jurisdiction.
5. AI Features and Third-Party Services
- Optional AI features (translation, dictionary generation, quiz-question generation, and LLM meaning) may send selected text/context to third-party AI providers.
- Provider responses may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for a specific purpose.
- You are responsible for your provider usage, billing, and policy compliance.
- The app includes in-app report/flag actions for AI-generated output.
6. Prohibited Conduct
- Do not use the App for illegal, abusive, or infringing activity.
- Do not attempt to reverse engineer, disrupt, or compromise the App or distribution channel.
- Do not misuse third-party services through the App.
7. Privacy
Your use of the App is also governed by the Privacy Policy: Privacy Policy.
8. Intellectual Property
- The App software, branding, and non-user materials are protected by applicable intellectual property law.
- These Terms do not transfer ownership rights to you.
9. Updates and Service Changes
Features may be modified, suspended, or removed at any time. Compatibility with all devices, providers, or regions is not guaranteed.
10. Disclaimers
- The App is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind.
- We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, data retention, or output quality.
- Reading recommendations, dictionary results, and generated content are informational only.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or business, arising from your use of or inability to use the App.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the App owner/operator from claims arising from your content, your use of third-party services, or your violation of these Terms.
13. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the App at any time for policy, legal, security, or operational reasons. You may stop using the App at any time.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by applicable law in the jurisdiction where the App operator is established, unless mandatory local consumer law requires otherwise.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material updates may require renewed consent in-app. Continued use after updates means acceptance of the revised Terms.
